About Me

After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Southern Illinois University and completing an internship with the United States Marshals Service for the Central District of Illinois, Ken Hett was employed as a police officer for 28 years with 2 years in Illinois and 26 years within the state of Texas serving with 2 large metropolitan city departments.

Ken holds both a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Basic Instructor license and a Texas Commission of Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Firearms Instructor license.

Ken has vast experience in undercover operations and investigations and has received both Undercover Investigator of the Year and United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas award while working in conjunction with the State Department. He also served as a Task Force Officer with the FBI Human Trafficking Task force where he held a Secret Clearance.

During his law enforcement career, Ken was assigned to a major metropolitan law enforcement maritime boat security unit where he served as the unit’s firearms instructor and training coordinator. He has completed the Master 100 Tons/Mate 200 Tons U.S. Coast Guard approved training course and currently holds a United States Coast Guard captains’ license. Ken has also attended numerous maritime training curriculums consisting of NASBLA (National Association of Safe Boating Law Administrators) and FLETC (Federal Law Enforcement Training Center) and has authored several State of Texas (TCOLE) approved maritime lesson plans. He has worked with and trained with multiple local, state, federal and military law enforcement agencies.

Ken served 8 years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and deployed in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm to Saudi Arabia during the Persian Gulf War where he served as Assistant Radio Chief, holding a secret clearance and as a member on a Tactical Air Control Party. Ken received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Marine Corps with the rank of Sergeant.

Ken holds both a pilot’s license and an advanced SCUBA certification and studies Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Professor Marcelo “Uirapuru”.
